WeAppHeroes, is a new app designed to strengthen local volunteering and align this action with addressing the global SDGs within urban centres. The app platform creates a real-time call-to-action where users reach out for assistance and immediately get help from other users in the area. For example a ‘help request’ can be created to build a community vegetable garden, in which those who are looking to contribute, search and offer to be a ‘hero’ for this project. This type of activity contributes to the following SDG goals: number 11 Sustainable City and Communities, 12 Responsible Consumption and Production, 13 Climate Action and 15 Life on Land.
