The search for the most appropriate means of locating the Sustainable Development Goals is essential to the successful implementation and optimization of Agenda 2063 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Africa. Drawing on research on the state of local governance in West Africa, the report lays the groundwork, highlights best practices, identifies key challenges and proposes strategies and policy options in the following 4 areas : (1) Decentralization and local governance; (2) Local finance and inclusive services; (3) Local Economic Development and (4) Capacity Building.
