Basic components for the planning of municipal development within the framework of the 2030 Agenda and the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals

Guidance and systemization of experiences

The text aims to support the process of planning the development of municipalities within the framework of the 2030 Agenda. Although written for Mexican municipalities, its content may be useful for any local government in Mexico and the Latin American region. Aspires: to inform the municipal governments about the process of formation of the global development agenda, the importance of the 17 SDGs and the 2030 Agenda in the achievement of integral local development; raise awareness among local authorities and officials about the need to align their development plan with the 2030 Agenda; inform the municipalities about the basic components that should be considered to incorporate the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs in their process and development planning instruments and provide recommendations that help for the adoption of the 2030 Agenda in municipal management.
