Latin American and Caribbean municipalities trained to localize the SDGs

In the framework of the 2nd Regional Forum of Local Economic Development, celebrated in Cochabamba, Bolivia last June 2017, UNDP, together with the global association of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and its Latin American and Caribbean section (FLACMA), organized a one-day training on SDGs localization for national associations of municipalities of eight countries of the Latin American and Caribbean region.

The workshop aimed to prepare national associations of municipalities to promote the SDGs localization in their respective countries by using the strategies, tools and methodologies jointly developed and proposed by the Global Taskforce of local and regional governments, UNDP and UN- Habitat for local governments to contribute to the SDG implementation process (i.e. awareness raising, advocacy, planning and monitoring).

Each association selected a focal point that will be then in charge of replicating this learning exercise within its members and constituencies, adapting it to the national context.

The guide and the resources developed for this training are available on this platform at the following page: http://localizingthesdgs.org/library/view/348
