Interested in Social Justice? Passionate about creating a better world? Then the UW General Equality Club has just the event for you!
As part of a national series designed to educate and empower Canadians across the country, we are hosting a UN Sustainable Development Goal training workshop to educate attendees about the SDGs as well as connect them to outlets to start implementing SDGs in their own lives.
Come out and listen to front of the line speakers. Browse booths with local organizations to help you make change! You will even have the chance to take your training to the next level and get global sustainable development experience through our partnership with UWaterloo Global Brigades.
After successful completion of the training, attendees will be given SDG advocate certification. Training includes UN staff speakers, and due to UN subsidies, this training certification worth $150 will be $15 ($10 if you get early bird tickets!), a locally sourced, vegetarian lunch is included in the ticket price and all proceeds will go to putting on more awesome events like this!
Whether you care about the environment, poverty, gender or all of the above; have well-developed ideas or don't know how to start "being the change" this is the event for you!
Concerned about the time commitment? No need! This training session was built so attendees can have the full experience after attending for only 3 hours!
